Old Everton Pictures

Looks like Derek Dougan - quality player and a great character. I wonder if that's the game where he was sent off against us for swearing at a linesman. He was suspended for 8 weeks!
All true, the Doog was a fine player & a hell of a character. Wolves of the period also boasted one of the most promising forwards of the decade, a figure I'm sure many fellow-oldies will recall at once - Peter Knowles. In this poignant & prescient interview, he explained his reasons for leaving the game to become, of all seemingly improbable things, a Jehovah's Witness:

Of course they cheated: what about the Wednesday fans that expect 100% from their players home & away, whether talent money or relegation
is involved at the end of the season to the clubs not involved with the fiddle. They stole money from the bookies and got what they deserved.
Most of all: Don't let the shady posters make your bullets for you lad.

No one is making my bullets. Can't grasp the MoTM award for someone wanting to lose. It was a cover bet IMO Lose the game we get money from the bookies, win the game we don't get money from the bookies but we get our win bonus. Cover bet

That is the absolute true gist of it.
Kay himself said as much...
Its all out there, the truth is out there, the plain and simple truth @McMagic...although it has to be said, the truth is seldom plain and never simple.
Get your head out of your facebook faux outrage...the truth will set you free
