My worst childhood memory. I've always hated the Welsh since then. Anyone who thinks these modern refs are crap should've tried coping with that arrogant git. I hope he was proud of himself.
Burnley 1959/60 were a 2-1 defeat by Burnley at Goodison - on September the 2nd Frank Wignall scored our goal -away - August 25th they beat us 5-2 -E Thomas and a OG by BMiller were our scorers they were crowned champions of the old Division 1 that season.Out of interest Joey, I now live in Burnley. I was at my local fitness centre this morning and a friend introduced me to an ex-Burnley play who is now in his 80's. I chatted with him and found he played for Burnley from the late 50's into the early 60's and had been at GP a couple of times and scored!!! He recalled that Everton had beaten Burnley 3-0 at Turfmoor but in the return leg at GP, Everton were beaten 3-0!!. Cannot remember his name now but he was a forward commented that the game at GP had an attendance figure of 74,000 approx which was the 2nd largest crowd he had played before, the previous large on was when he went to Wembley playing for Burnley. He was subsequently transferred to Blackpool and remembered Alan Ball.
I thought with your archives you may have some info to back then. Will try and find out more idc and let you know if interested.

Yes keep me updated, ask him about the team particularly Ray Pointer not siure if the winger Connelly went to Man U off the top of my head - two games in two days was a regular thing in those days usually Christmas Day, and Boxing Day Burnley , and Bolton were the norm in those years compare the moans todaylolWell done Joey, highlighted that is the GP game. Will find out more for you, if you want to know. Not sure but might have been Robson.

Westie famously stated...the wife said if I go she'll divorce me...I should've gone, she divorced me anyway.
Burnley in that era always had great no 9s Ray Pointer, Andy Lochhead, and Ray Crawford {who famously punched a goal in to win the game at Goodison} OH and does the Bob Lord stand still blow hot air out under you seat at Turf moor......What is it you want to know about the team, Ray Pointer? Next time I see him will enquire.
