My brother in law was on the milk and still in bed at 12noon (A red as well), so I took his son with me got 2 tickets for us at the Goodison office and gave
a mate my Top Balcony season ticket. Our seats were poor, just round from Gwladys Street in Bullens Road, but what a day, My nephew was only 6
years old at the time, and couldn't decide who to support. I think that I may have tipped the balance, coz he's a devout blue of 33 years now.

17th November 1962 Alex Young deflects a shot from Brian Harris to score at Blackburn during a 2-3 defeat -

I was at that game at Ewood, it snowed continuously, you could barely see the line markings, this picture above doesn't do the snow justice!
Blackburn had some real players on show and drew with us at Goodison later that season, taking 3 out of 4 points from us, but not quite
enough to stop us winning the league championship.

My older brother, and late father told me some funny and sad stories about ewood park with the snow , and bad weather one was thick Fog and how Labby left Westy standing out ther for an age without telling him the game had been abandoned in thick fog.....
Another was we had a draw near the end Labby passed the ball back in heavy falling snow it stuck in the snow and Pickering was on it like a flash to win the game 3-2 - Westy went mad at Labby, and likewise Labby at Westy - Pickering always seemed to score v us - a fullback converted to centre forward for Blackburn - the Cattsoon snapped him up a phenomenal goal scorer for us;)
