Old Everton Pictures

Cut my nose off to spite my face that day. I sent my Season ticket to the club as protest to McKenzie not being selected that day. Gordon Lee said
the previous week 'If we signed Pele he'd be on the same money as the rest of the players'. Some manager eh! Thomas made most of
Latchfords goals that season (But who did Thomas get the ball from...yes McMagic). Latchford never made a goal for another player, Latchford
never made a goal for himself, if he scored a goal from outside the box, it was a deflection. Latchford that great Everton centre-forward played many games against the RS but never scored a single goal.

One of the greatest.

Bob was a goal poacher - hated him at first as he replaced my hero the hard working Joe Royle who did contribute to the team -if Bally had been Captain under Bob - Bob would have had a tongue lashing no doubts at first - then you look at his goal ratio, most goals not all made by Dave Thomas - he did improve his work team ethic, and was a pure natural goalscorer, how much would he cost now?.......

Jimmy Harris scores in the infamous 10-4 defeat to Spurs in October 1958

A Turning point for the Blues as new Chairman John Moores decided Manager John Carey was not the man to spend his future funds........
what was worse for Blues fans there was a USA police program that started off with the police car radio 10 -4 in it , and the other lot from over the park were saying it at you all day at School -

Agree with that Joey - Bob became a much better all-round player with us. At Birmingham he had the underrated Bob Hatton to do all the donkey work; I always thought we should have signed him as well!

Kevin Keegan, who incidentally never scored against us, said that Latch was the best English centre-forward he ever played with, citing his unselfishness, which was an aspect of his game that developed under Gordon Lee. Lee had earlier sold MacDonald from Newcastle precisely because he was so selfish.
