Jimmy Harris scores in the infamous 10-4 defeat to Spurs in October 1958

A Turning point for the Blues as new Chairman John Moores decided Manager John Carey was not the man to spend his future funds........
what was worse for Blues fans there was a USA police program that started off with the police car radio 10 -4 in it , and the other lot from over the park were saying it at you all day at School -
Oct 58 - Apr(?)61
Took him long enough to finally make his mind up to hail that taxi, hope Moshiri's not that slow.

Cut my nose off to spite my face that day. I sent my Season ticket to the club as protest to McKenzie not being selected that day. Gordon Lee said
the previous week 'If we signed Pele he'd be on the same money as the rest of the players'. Some manager eh! Thomas made most of
Latchfords goals that season (But who did Thomas get the ball from...yes McMagic). Latchford never made a goal for another player, Latchford
never made a goal for himself, if he scored a goal from outside the box, it was a deflection. Latchford that great Everton centre-forward played many games against the RS but never scored a single goal.
Don't talk nonsense, he didn't do much other than score goals but he was great at doing that. He scored plenty before Thomas and McKenzie came to Goodison. May not have scored against the RS but he scored against everyone else. Top striker Latchford.

It was that humiliating defeat h- he had to poach another manager in the Catt?....
The 10-4 was early in his tenure - I have a sneaky feeling that game was Nicholsons first as manager for Spurs, they obviously got a better new manager bounce than us - Moores backed him with time and money, but only for so long.

John Hollowbread is the goalie above and Peter Baker the Spurs right back. 3 years later Peter Baker became the odd man out, the rest of the Spurs
double winning side were all international players. 2 years later again brings us to 1963 and a fabulous side called EVERTON.
