6th December 1969. Liverpool and Everton captain's Yard Dog Ron Yeats and Brian Labone walk out together for the Merseyside derby, at Goodison Park- in a 3-0 defeat with the famous own goal by Sandy - we got our revenge at the pit winning 2-0 then weeks later winning the league -

Look at the footballs they are carrying. They got wet and when they dried out they were like cannon balls. If the goalie kicked it out of his hands and you headed it on, or about, the centre line, you remembered it 'till about Thursday.

Love seeing the faces in the crowd, excited kids, guys in white shirts and ties, and a few Toffee mums as well.

Brilliant stuff, a Liverpool that has sadly disappeared.

Hence Geoff Astles claim for brain damage - Reading that Tommy Lawton book he had two young strikers under his wing at Notts county - Geoff Astle & John Toshack - he taught them all he knew about playing no 9 - he knew they would make the grade........

It was 5-0 Eastoe did score,and a Giman pen we beat them away 3-2 that season too
They were bottom & relegated
we came 7th from bottom that season.......
