Seem to recall seeing this on Youtube some years ago -- the goal was not offside. The Italians were corrupting football even then -- as the Rs found out also a year or so later against Inter.

11 stabbed i think? , non fatal @Joey66 although one was touch and go, i was sitting on a barrier right in the middle of it, most of the damage was done with a screwdriver rather than a knife.
The goalkeeper did play really well as far as i can recall , but to be honest i think i was more worried about what i had seen and then having to get past the millwall coaches to go home,to take much notice of the game .
I left early to get away , most of the millwall must have had the same idea as most of their coaches were three quarters full as i walked passed, think i was only about 10 at the time.
I was in the paddock entering by the street end with my older brother when the nutters arrived going in the side enterence of the Glawdys street chant were going to take the street end inside the fans were waiting for them horrific sites as the back of the street end who dropped on them knives were on show it was all over in five minutes ...
Fans getting strechered by where we were standing with blood pouring through the bottom - up to the waiting ambulances at the park end -Worst violence I ever witnessed......
