They were far too good a team to have resorted to the tactics they did. They could have played most teams off the park.They could play , but they were a dirty ruthless team who could cheat too, also even with our great side in the late 1960;s they were our rivals and we never did much at Elland Road v them!
My word, so many memories there;
John Jackson was one of the best English keepers never to be capped. Peter Wall was a very accomplished full back that we got from the RS. I'm afraid Bobby Tambling had lost his "T" by the time he got to us.Ross Jenkins never quite made it with us but had a very good spell later with Watford.Sub was Jimmy Scott who we got from the barcodes. He played on the left wing. He was so knock kneed that when he ran ( and he did occasionally) the sparks nearly set the Arthur Wait stand on fire. That was an Everton side in transition by the look of things.
I think it was the eufa cup gameI think you got it If I recall this photo was in one of the Everton programmes , I think this was at Feyenoord , either the Friendly before 78/79 season or in the UEFA Cup 79/80 ?
Ross Jenkins, tall & gangly....that's him!I've got a hazy but bad memory of Jenkins poking one in against us at Goodison, an equaliser I think. Tall and gangling.
Looks like our midfield in that game was Billy Kenny (senior), Henry Newton, and @Dario Terracotta - surprised it was only 2-1!!!
