Saw Alan Ball play when he was with Blackpool. Blackpool v Leeds at Elland Road. He was just beginning to make a name for himself, this would be early 1960's (I think). Leeds won comfortably though I can't remember the score. You could see Alan Ball's class though even though he was a young lad.

....I recall Emlyn Hughes being in that early 60s (1964 I think) Blackpool team. I remember him playing LB at Goodison. Ball was brilliant, though. As you say, you could see the quality.
