Great pictures and memories thanks Joey.Used to love Mick Lyons gave everything in every game he ever played for us.He suffered numerous heartbreaks during his tenure as did us supporters, such a shame he never won anything. When he finished with us he just missed the glory years
Deffo Joe Harper in the pic.
Agree he bled blue but perhaps the glory days arrived because he made way for younger better players

Remember a few times going the match with my dad when John got the ball it was "Show him your arse moggsy lad"

Yep and T Jones we had two one very good TE , and one great TG ..... look at the holding attendance in 1970 65,000...
them imo they wrecked it with that new Goodison stand........ destroying the Goodison road standing area....
The new stand was (is) an eyesore and was never a fitting stand to go with the best ground in the country

On 13th July 1913, Goodison Park became the first league venue to be visited by a ruling monarch. George V and Queen Mary travelled to the ground to visit local schoolchildren. The next big change came in 1926 when, at a cost of £30,000, another double-decker, similar to the Main Stand, was built on the Bullens Road side opposite.
