6 months younger than me then so he was justified to play in the under 18 league - we played Southdene of Kirkby who won the league that season , and if any of them were under 24 -I would have been surprised.....
Prescot cables were in our league too, played at Hope street on a frozen pitch and hailstones in my face we got hammered there toolol

It was the only way our team could catch them Eggs ......they were class they went bust later that season missed playing them away as the whole club ground etc closed......oh sorry about th age mix up you young whipper snapper... lol oh it was 14 - 3 - I checked my diary last night..... we came mid table there were 3 star teams in that youth under 18 league - South Liverpool -Southdene Kirkby - and Prescot Cables we matched the other teams in the league .....
