We used the square drain covers as the goals
Our street was on a hill and whoever kicked it had to run down the hill to fetch it
My mate Andy McDougall was a goalie. He was blind in one eye but fearless and as brave as they come. He used to dive all over the place and usually finished a game covered in blood with his glasses broken.Good goalie he was and went on to play non league footie. Mad as a hatter

The days of playing with a tennis ball, and a Frido it was like a balloon hence you soon learnt ball control - it often punctured easily especially when it went over the wall in the entries of a two up two down back yards, and they knifed it as we were a nuisance - we got it back and played with it burst until it fell apart

I got dragged to that game, by an RS relative, and stood on the Kop.

Hate to generalise, but you could smell the whiskey fumes wafting over the pitch from Anfield road.
