Would be worth a fortune today
And a great kit
They raved about John Stones - John Hurst was 3 times the player he was......he learnt alot of |Labby , but the amount of times he took the ball forwards and scored goals....fabulous player, I think he played CF in the FA Youth Cup winning team.
I often think of John Hurst when considering the wealth of many modern day footballers who weren’t good enough to lace his boots.
What a team the 69/70 side were! They raved about John Stones - John Hurst was 3 times the player he was......he learnt alot of |Labby , but the amount of times he took the ball forwards and scored goals
What a team the 69/70 side were!
Oozing quality and class throughout
Oh I wish we could see them again today
A true team in every sense.
It makes me sad to compare our current bunch to them
To be fair Eggs however limited Tony was as a player, it is hardly his fault football can reward poor/average players so handsomely,I know Tony myself and he certainly doesn't purvey a "big time Charlie" image, quite a quiet, reserved lad in all honesty, but I get your point mate....I genuinely have a picture in my mind of Tony Hibbert driving his Bentley past a bus stop and standing waiting with his bus pass is John Hurst. Never has football quality been so misrepresented.
