He was a forward turned into a 2nd centre half by the Catt - he was the legs for labby , but the understanding was incredible as Hursty used to break for defence in to midfield and score some very good goals - my late father took me to a Derby at the pit in the stands someone gave him tickets cheap , and he had not seen Hursty at all he admired him what's this no 10 doing hes brilliant he never gave the Liverpool attack a chance - bally I think hit the post for us in a 0-0 draw....Hursty was a legend, a quiet, unassuming man who could score goals.
It used to confuse the life out of me because he wore number 10 but played at the back, in those days you wore the number of the position that you were playing.
