Old Everton Pictures

I think this was the "England" X1 that played the "Scotland" X1 for the Dixie Dean Testimonial match.
Tony Kay was Captain for the Everton/Liverpool team 11 that night he is not local?
I don't think that photo is necessary linked to that - unless it was just showing the player local born who were playing in it - yet again never a caption?

It sure is Dario - Dougie Livermore far right back row is my cousins step uncle - My cousin had disabilities still a mad red unfortunately, but I have to say Doug looked after him took him in the dressing room at the pit - pre match he certainly gave him star treatment.... I think Douggie is an agent for players now ....
Gosh when I was a kid a mad blue it was our Dougie this our Dougie that - he had a few games for the first team but fell out with Shanks.....
I think that is Gerry Byrne not Doug Livermore. Photo is from 1964, isn't that too early for Doug Livermore.

This photo is from 1964, surely that is too early for Doug Livermore ? I think the names are Labone, Rankin, Wright, Lawler, Smith, Gerry Byrne, Callaghan, Temple, Kay, Harvey, Morrissey. The hardest to recognize was Tony Kay. As far as I can remember all are Scousers except Kay

Yes that seems right ! I was going on the assumption it was Dixie Dean's testimonial. That explains why it doesn't look like Tony Kay and indeed it is an all-Scouser team. I wonder what the occasion was. There was probably no actual game played otherwise they would have had the photo taken in uniform.

Nah, no Tony Kay, he was Capt for the 'England' team.
I'd go with a1964-65-66 Derby preview photo,

Spot on Dixies testimonial was "So, on April 7th 1964 Dean, aged 57, was invited to Goodison Park to celebrate his career and to help raise some funds for his retirement".
That photo is later in 1967 I found the caption if correct -with the photo -
