My Dad was a Liverpool fan and in those days we watched either club when at home but mainly Everton. I had got two tickets front row main stand for that game and we got off lightly. Dark days under Howard initially and I never thought he would have turned it around like he did.

I know we have never had much luck against Liverpool but the league cup final at Wembley summed us up, best team but could not beat them.

You are right though it was an embarrassing defeat.
I think Nev got dropped after it. Just shows how you can bounce back after that and be a world class player

I think you are right. Biley didn't play. It was the match that Rush scored four.
But I have seen Biley up close a number of times. And in derbies. He wasn't great.
But as I said......the team back then was not great. They were close to getting Kendall sacked.
