I went to that match, remember it well. He now sits behind me in the Director's Box when I go to matches at Wigan.

Given their reputation for producing young players at that time I'm surprised I only recognise two names in that Burnley team, Stan Ternent and one who would come back to haunt us, Chris Nicholl - I think he started at Burnley.

Reidys injury was caused by our keeper George Wood.
Match abandoned at half time at 1-1
Worthington opened the scoring for Bolton down this end,
Trevor Ross equalised at the far end playing with an orange ball.
Later in the season we lost the re arranged game 3-1

We were the winners signing Reidy for 60 grand that match should have never taken place looking at that photo......
