Changy's Grandad

The days when we had one class Keeper in Westy a fantastic backup in Andy Rankin , and Geoff Barnett - who we sold to Arsenal who was also a very good keeper-

....true, Joey. I think Barnett played in an FA Cup Final for Arsenal....
First European Cup game decided by penalties I think! No one knew the rules haha. Andy Rankin's save to clinch it was boss. Into the street end too. If only the fiorentina pens had been into the street end too...!....true, Joey. I think Barnett played in an FA Cup Final for Arsenal. Rankin was in goal and a hero of the penalty shoot out (I think) against Monchengladbach in 1970.
I was there Rankins save was a cracking save it was pissitantly raining all night too!lolFirst European Cup game decided by penalties I think! No one knew the rules haha. I was in the park end -, a gang of us out in the rain - when it come to pens, and out main pen, who rarely missed taker Joe Royle missed fans started to leave as no one knew the rules on pen shoot outs we thought we were out when there guy scored - then a load of fans at the back shouted it was the best of five we all came back, and if I remember in the days of big crowds just got back to see the highlights on ITV or BBC !...I was there too, Joey. Sat in Upper Gwladys I can remember the shoot out clearly, atmosphere was electric.
Denis Law - The one non-Everton player I regret never seeing play (Even though he was still around until the early 70's I never got to see him play, not live anyway)
- He weren't smiling at F/T though
I seen him play at Goodison with the fantastic George best, Law was in his twilight years , but still a threat!I remember Dennis Law's back heel for City against United that put them down (1973/74)
