My Bad...it is Goodison. At least this gives me a chance to amend the entry in my photo collection. The date is correct however.

Was that because they chose to play at our ground as it was allowed then for the gate money v Colchester ?
so we let them use their home kit and we played in our away kit?

I dont think so Joey. I think we were drawn at home. Colchesters home kit was all blue and i just think it was a quirky f a rule/option that if both wore same coloured home kits then both would play in their away kits

These are excerts from a book I made for my own records. It will never be published because all the photos are copyrite and "stolen" from the internet and old newspapers or football programmes. It can be amazing what you do to pass the time on wet winter days when you are divorced and retired.

Yes we drew them at home used our away kit as we did in the 1960's -
looked it up I was there that day aged 16 years old the other lot were at home too both 3 pm kick offs we shared a school minibus 50/ 50 blues, and reds I won a seat with a raffle ticket .... park end that day to get to the mini bus parked on the LFC car park - I think they drew the other lot while we put on this display - what a footballing side we really were....

That must be one of the games that was played on a midweek afternoon due to power cuts - they knocked us out of the cup a few days earlier. Big Joe missed a penalty (sorry Joey) but Henry Newton knocked in the rebound.
