Ha ha nice oneMark Walters playing for Villa. His middle name was Everton! Sorry mate, I did say it was tenuous! Thanks for playing.
We need a video of this then @Dario Terracotta....I remember that goal from Clyde Best, I nominated it for the best opposition goal I’d seen at Goodison.
Jim Mcdonagh the smallest keeper I have seen for us utter rubbish .....
Good knowledgeMark Walters playing for Villa. His middle name was Everton! Sorry mate, I did say it was tenuous! Thanks for playing.
He's interviewed most players his two books are brilliant Eggs, such a dedicated Evertonian I enjoyed both books mainly players he interviewed who had played only a handful of games .......played against him at Villa Park in the 70s, have you interviewed him?
I remember Walsall had two big lads up front, Bernie was one, the other a journeyman called John Manning, who used to play for Tranmere. I thought he was more impressive than Bernie!Think he did, Walsall in the cup at Goodison?
Here's the game I have watched this twice for the life of me Bernie the Bolt does not stand out much ......I remember Walsall had two big lads up front, Bernie was one, the other a journeyman called John Manning, who used to play for Tranmere. I thought he was more impressive than Bernie!
I'm not sure who takes the blame for signing Bernie as Catterick was on his sick bed and didn't see the game. I think Tommy Casey was in charge but I doubt he had the authority to sign him.
Talked about this goal last month. He got some abuse during the game,. Well it was early 70s. But my recollection of this was when he scored it it was met with a lot of applause from the fans because of it being a great goal. Think even Clyde was surprised....I remember that goal from Clyde Best, I nominated it for the best opposition goal I’d seen at Goodison.
