Frustrated Goodison crowd getting angry at the players...
Players not showing enough tenacity or courage...

Infirm of purpose and lacking in determination....

And some often claim our problems are down to modern fans and modern footballers and back in the day everyone got behind the side and the players all gave it 100%.

Turns out that footballers and fans not being great at times is a footballing constant. And if you know your history....

Should have. Remember around 73? Sagging school to go to a night match at Luton. Derby had finished their games and were top of the league. Think we had 2 games left and if we won them we could overtake them. We absolutely battered luton. Gary Jones missed sitter after sitter. We lost 2-1 and with that the title. It was the year Carlisle beat us twice. Gary never recovered from.thst game

Was in the boys pen for that game. Then sneaked in the street end when the gates opened. Remember looking at the goodison road terracing thinking wow all the people in there. Think th crowd was about 64000. Does anyone know how many the goodison road terracing held

It must have been a lot as the angle it was on - the only part of the ground I never stood on tbh, but it was a massive area.....

I mainly think it was a issue of the transport being on Walton Road side logistically to get a bus or car parking later on etc also the crowds used to wait for the teams arrival prior to kick off, and you just wanted your part of the ground for a good spec ....
