I didn't realise straight off at the time, but Mike Buckley's dad picked me up a coupe of times when I was hitch-hiking to GP from Salford.
Fine player too MB - RIP.

I was 12.Course you are mate. Live a healthy lifestyle and you will see the blues triumph again!!! Mind you how old were you in 1970? I was nearly 11!!!
Excellent! My 60s trips to Wembley were the other way around so the less said the better!!I was 12.
Went to Wembley in 66 and stood on stool at front of concrete pens they had there in those days. Had photo taken with Dixie Dean outside Wembley by evening standard or whatever the London paper was called then. Can remember singing the song about Mike Trebilcock as we were leaving ground- wouldn't be allowed to sing it nowadays.
Couldn't get ticket for final in 68- thankfully!!
Great days.
Yes and we were favourites in 1968, missed too many chances!Excellent! My 60s trips to Wembley were the other way around so the less said the better!!

That's a strange one - only pictured with the charity shield...
it is isnt it cos weeks before it we'd won the league.
mustve been taken before the end of the season so it could be sent over to aus and the progs printed up.
I would have to check - they had a good team - Leeds were are bogey side at Elland road though off the top of my head! Not sure about that Joey. I watched that Final again recently and although Jimmy Husband is remembered for missing a couple of chances it was a tight game in the rain. The Holy Trinity did not dominate.
The Holy Trinity played some great stuff sometimes but is it my memory or did Colin Bell and City regularly turn us over?
