Twenty minutes my I spend 3 hours some days on this thread - only joking Brian I found it a very obscure link searching away as my son & I have been putting a new pump in my fish-pond today what a PIA that was to think I could do it on my own at one stage .... - any way that game my bible tells me on that day you posted above indeed Dave Hickson got 2 goals & Mick Meagan got the other - I was 2 years old.no doubts dressed in blue .....Love this site. This photo has helped fill another twenty minutes or so of solitary confinement. I could only find two occasions when Hickson scored at home to Sunderland and on one of those Bollands was not in goal for Sunderland. I have just read the match report on the brilliant site "Everton Independent Research Data" and strongly suspect this is Hickson scoring his second on 14 Sep 1957. The reports goes "The bold Donovan still captaining the side well, added his force to the attack from which Hickson scored his second. It was from his centre the Hickson nodded the ball towards goal against the wind which caused the ball to hang. Bolland and Aitken were foxed by the flight but Hickson sensing the position quickly nipped in between both of them"" If you got this photo from a book are you able to confirm my thoughts.
Posted that only the other day... Bernie the bolts debut = 0-0 .......Bernie The Bolt tries a spectacular overhead kick on his debut for the Blues. Not one of our better buys.View attachment 90965

I only missed two matches that season, getting to 40 League games. One of them was, frustratingly, this game, as I was on a training course from work and could not get the time off.View attachment 90969

Forgotten all about the blond lad at the front. In fact can still only recall his surname -- ShawThe Everton squad at the start of the 1962/63 title-winning season. Morrissey, Kay and Scott would strengthen the squad during the course of it.

Is that a lad named Shaw at the very front? The Everton squad at the start of the 1962/63 title-winning season. Morrissey, Kay and Scott would strengthen the squad during the course of it.

The Gladwys street standing area in full voice & flow -
Not really imo maybe a more computerised way of entering the end of the turnstile etc, and the fencing removed so the gates would be smaller, but nowhere near as reduced they are now plus who sits down?Fantastic crowd scenes. Anyone who wasn't around in the terracing days truly missed out. Even without Hillsboro I suspect all seating would have gradually come into effect anyway.
Stuart Shaw. Not sure if he ever played a match for Everton. Dropped down the leagues quite quick. And then disappeared off the radar.Forgotten all about the blond lad at the front. In fact can still only recall his surname -- Shaw
