Dixie was the greatest of them all- a colourful character. And it is nonsense to suggest that he would not be as much of a terror to defences if he were playing today as he was then.” Quote from colleague Cliff Britton. -

The Echo did some drawings similar to these around 1970 , I remember colouring them in. I like that badge, worn briefly in William Ralph’s era
Everton at Goodison and not in blue always seems odd, I imagine that kit being like the Wolves gold and black.Everton v Manchester City
Trautmann is well-supported by Manchester City defenders as he catches a shot from Vernon (not in picture) during today's FA Cup tie at Goodison Park. Final score 2-0 to Everton, 27th January 1962 - Bobby Collins & the GV in photo - note the amber kit foir us -

In the FA cup early to mid 1960s we used our away kit in the FA Cup all white at home in 1966....….Everton at Goodison and not in blue always seems odd, I imagine that kit being like the Wolves gold and black.
The third “blue” looks like Bingham
It's our history, and this thread has captivated many posters it just keeps on delivering daily from many postersSome great photos on this thread. Some great memories there. Some bad ones as well. (Memories that is). Some awful defeats over the years......And some great wins. But that's football. That's Everton.
I especially like the photos from the late 1960s and all through the 1970s. Loved those teams. The Trinity....the 1969/70 team.....Martin Dobson....Andy King....Bob Latchford.....the great Mike Lyons.....the flying wizard that was Dave Thomas.(imagine what DCL and Richarlson would do with Thomas putting in crosses for them). So many Great Everton footballers. Far to many to mention.
The nostalgia of those days. Loved those players. The good ..the bad and the ugly. Although I tend to romanticize all things Everton.
The mid 1980s photos are great also. Another great team. Robbed in their prime. All Everton photos are great.
Glad I found this site. Great stuff
