Loved those three players (in that photo) playing for everton. King....Thomas.....Latchford. Add in at that time Dobson....McKenzie....Lyons..
We had a decent team. Shame that they couldn't manage to win something.

cannot agree with you. Kay (an Everton player) banned for life because of an alleged match fixing offence while at Sheffield Wednesday. And it's been well published .......he was motm in the alleged bloody match that he was supposed to have fixed......
This whole episode and conviction stinks..
And when were the 1960s the decade of honesty and virtue..........especially politics.
I said honesty and virtue were the norm, not absolutes. Even in politics - ministers would resign over matters they had no control over; and with one or two notable exceptions, would be forced to resign for behaviour that today wouldn't even raise eyebrows. Compared to the 60s current day morals and respect have all but diappeared. Frankly, modern day society stinks.

No problem.......agree with you on the morals of the present day. Just look at PMs and presidents of certain countrys. Far too much to discuss on a thread like this about the morals and behaviour of people during the 60s. Or any decade for that matter.
Tony Kay served I believe ten weeks in prison. And was barred from playing professional football for life. No matter what the morals of the time. That punishment was draconian. It was ridiculous. It should have been appealed to high heaven. And I state once again .......he was motm in the alleged fixed match.
The fa ruled with an iron fist. Players toffed their caps to the establishment.
The law was an ass back then. Think about how homosexuals were treated.
Think about a lot of things. Far Too many to mention now.
The 60s were not the wonderful moralistic decade that you seem to think. Give me the present day (warts and all) anytime..........And Tony Kay would have made millions. And not hounded out of the game. Good night.

All relative of course. You love modern life with it's loss of law and order, widespread drug taking, demeaning sexualisation of young women ..... how many warts are you willing to accept?

Ian at John was his favourite player........no reasoning for some people's taste. Even great players like Reid.
I didn't mind the saint as a player, we put him (and the other two) in a famous song for one reason - deep down we knew they were very, very, good at what they did - I just don't mind admitting it.
tbh, the whole rs hate thing hadn't really kicked in then...started with cryarses emlyn and smith.
