It states in the Roy Vernon autobiography the fans never took to him yet he did a very good job - it was such a hard act to follow as proven by the form Collins led Leeds to a massive blunder to sell him by the Catt - to repeat it with Bally he had then lost the plot .......
The catt was paranoid. Certainly produced great teams ... or the trainer did ... but I sometimes wonder if we didn't lose as much as we gained.

Got a feeling this was v Utd in August '69. It was played on a Tuesday night - hence the floodlights. Chelsea was definitely a daytime fixture.
