It states in the Roy Vernon autobiography the fans never took to him yet he did a very good job - it was such a hard act to follow as proven by the form Collins led Leeds to a massive blunder to sell him by the Catt - to repeat it with Bally he had then lost the plot .......

The catt was paranoid. Certainly produced great teams ... or the trainer did ... but I sometimes wonder if we didn't lose as much as we gained.
Bally scoring in a 5-2 rout v Chelsea in our title run in at home in irony of a 58,000 + crowd - proud to be there! Notice all the Holy trinity players involved in the attack

Got a feeling this was v Utd in August '69. It was played on a Tuesday night - hence the floodlights. Chelsea was definitely a daytime fixture.

The Holy Trinity are never far away from the action.... They hunted as a pack...... They mainly did manage to keep their line. They were superb. Well that's my story anyway as seen through young eyes at the time... And I'm sticking to that. Can't change now.
Now wouldn't it be great if we had a proper midfield nowadays. Or something even resembling a midfield.........
