He not a scruffy bugger shirt out type
You have ruled out Alex Stepney - I honestly don't know other than its one of that team apart from the keeper......

What attendance? as the ground looks full for that photo?
I was at this game. A look at the pic of Harvey scoring suggests a large crowd but a closer look at the grainy image shows that there are gaps...and that 21000 could be the attendance there.Brian the attendance for that friendly was low - 21,000 looks more to me on that photo imo -but the kit may match hard to say?

I wonder how many at that game saw anything to suggest what would unravel that season?

We getting mixed up here?A lot of us hoped for the best but feared the worst. The wheels started coming off roundabout October and got dire in the November. Ended up with 37 points from 42 games. It was actually an improvement of one point on the season before but 2 places lower. The heart and guts had been pulled out of the club and team.
I was also at the game and I have vague memories that for many pre season games only parts of the ground were open so the 21,000 may have been concentrated in just a couple of areas, that was also a period when the Main Stand was being demolished. Still thanks everyone for their input.I was at this game. I'm looking at the date on the programme August 1969, the season about to start was our championship season.
I really shouldn't smile at that but I know what you mean. I'm encountering such occurrences in a frighteningly increased rate these days.Beg pardon! Was thinking August '72. Attention span of a ...
What was I saying?!
Old timers mindset happens to all of us on occasion- sometimes can't remember what my last meal was ........nevermind what a caption statesI really shouldn't smile at that but I know what you mean. I'm encountering such occurrences in a frighteningly increased rate these days.
I did, I spent all July going round Holland Belgium Luxemburg telling anybody who would listen it was nailed on, we were going to piss the league.I wonder how many at that game saw anything to suggest what would unravel that season?
