Why are we wearing yellow kit?

Was the vogue back in the day for the home team to play in an away strip.
Seems daft I know. Take the time we played Bristol City at GP. They played in their red strip us in our amber strip. So no colour clash so why change at all.
Tbh I thought the original picture was that game, but Colchester it seems to be.
Plot thickens, just seen Colchester play in blue as their first colours so why are they in red?

That's a good point Joey. Those days it was common for a smaller team to get the fixture reversed for monetary considerations. Not sure if it's allowed at all these days.

Happy 87th Birthday to Jimmy Harris. Scored a hat-trick when Everton lost 10-4 at Spurs, played for England U23 with Duncan Edwards and scored in both legs when Birmingham City beat Inter Milan in the semi-final of the Fairs Cup! And what a character! A great and funny man. -
