Old Everton Pictures

Or more like the other way around probally that's the only way Daro seen Bestty was on a photo lol
Joking apart I seen Betsy at Goodison what a player four defenders to mark him in a 0-0 draw when we had a top team too......one of the best opposition players I have seen at Gooodison tbh ....Gilzean , Greaves , Moore etc come a close 2nd .....
I remember reading many moons back that Best stated that his favourite other team was Everton. And favourite player was Alan Ball. As a youngster I thought this was great. George Best likes Everton. Get him signed up.....
Then I read somewhere that he liked Chelsea. Then he liked Rangers. (He was interviewed about Celtic and Rangers). seemingly favouring Rangers.....But when he was actually playing in Scotland he stated.that his favourite team was Hibs.
Then he liked Fulham. Then his favourite player was Bobby Moore.
I soon realised that Best just said what people wanted to hear........all just PR.
But I do.think that he did recognize other world class footballers.......hence his admiration of our very own Alan Ball.....

Everton Team training in August 1952...George Cummins, Ted Sagar, Jackie Grant, Bill Fielding, J Cross, H Leyland, Don Donovan, Eric Moore and Tony McNamara.

No more joking about Terry Darracott from me. The guy played for Everton. So fair play to him........
On looking over these photos I must state that that is a great action photo. I don't remember seeing it before. George Best looks well up for it........great photo.
