Surely Bally would never have played with Mathews Joey .Mathews finished his career at Stoke .I am pretty sure I saw Mathews play at Goodison in about 1964 when he was about 50 but I'm not 100% on that.

The story I read on Ballys debut for Blackpool Mathews hugged the touch Line - Bally placed a perfect pass one hard ahead of him and Mathews let the ball go out for a throw in ......he pointed to his feet .....Bally carried on with it and at half time they had a ring ding - Bally dropped next game .....

I am not trying to be a smartarse as you do a brilliant job on this thread and like many others love seeing the old photos but that story doesn't stack up as Mathews was gone before Ballys debut.
