Tommy Smith.........the guy with a face that you should need a licence for.
We all know that he had a top class career. So I'll give him a little credit. But the few times that I saw him up close and personal, all he did was kick opposition players. He should have been sent off.........some of his tackles were bordering on criminal. He really did live up to his reputation the few times that I saw him play.
Would players like him survive in today's almost non- contact game?
Alan Ball would . Don't think that Smith would.........

Don't worry mate. Bernie Wright evened the score with crater face Smithy in several off field altercations in his short but eventful stay beside the Mersey lol
