I was 13/14 when we beat them 8-0. I was listening to updates on the radio. It just kept saying .. " and now back to Goodison.....another goal to report...
And then the old BBC teleprinter spelled out the 8.......eight. They only did that for high scores. As if you had to see it spelled out to believe it.
Just one other thing about that match that I always remember. I used to check my old dad's pools coupon ( He let me do a line). He had that match down as a draw. How wrong could you be... He never was that lucky.
I think that we then drew our next 2 or 3 games.
