I was there that night when Joe missed that first pen some fans including me thought we were out when they scored their first pen after that miss ...First pen shoot out in that competition a load of fans called everyone back in making for the exit tunnel - what a night - they were a top team....
his pen hit the net & bounced back out no messing.....
I was in the park end soaked with the persistent rain all night ... typical Eggs heylol

It never stopped raining from early evening say 2 hours before the game as I feel the attendance would have been far better the game was played in non stop rain all night - Moggsy first goal was a cross to big Joe the keeper made a clanger worried about big Joe moving in he took his eye of the bal and it went straight in in the opening five minutes ....
My oldest brothers mate - German Champions this will be easy .......Big Joe did hit the woodwork plus their keeper made two fantastic saves .....they came out in the 2nd half and came at us big style ......a memorable European night .....

My older brother went & told me all about it - they kicked us off the park the replay was worse I believe Puskás knew everyone Joe reckons the officials were taken out for a meal at a big casino etc, wined and looked after we should have had a blatant pen on Alan Whittle the ref just waved the protest away - Joe Royle reckons we stood no chance with the ref like that..... ....
