Blame @Dario Terracotta his debut game of seeing us - I did not make that game
My older brother went & told me all about it - they kicked us off the park the replay was worse I believe Puskás knew everyone Joe reckons the officials were taken out for a meal at a big casino etc, wined and looked after we should have had a blatant pen on Alan Whittle the ref just waved the protest away - Joe Royle reckons we stood no chance with the ref like that..... ....
Typical knock the favourites out & then get robbed .....Everton that.....
As an aside my mum had an auntie Gertie, don't get names like that anymore Eggs!!!...season ticket for many years, Joey. My folks were very much involved in running Everton Supporters Club, I remember Gertie Dunlop sat nearby (Albert Dunlop’s Mum).

I was also in the Park End that nightI was in the park end soaked with the persistent rain all night ... typical Eggs heylol
Complementary tickets? lol
There was five of us I was the youngest, in those days the park end had a great atmosphere, plus the away fans were there plus at the back the floors were wooden warmer on your feet .......plus if you travelled in a car easy access to get parked etc ,,,I was also in the Park End that night
some still do. Check out those early "tackles" from Saint Virgil in the derby.Van den Hauwe, known as 'Psycho' among fans, clashes with Nottingham Forest -the things players got away with then........

Game's gone soft.some still do. Check out those early "tackles" from Saint Virgil in the derby.
And as for Pickford? What has he got away with? The guys been crucified in the press. BaBies been threatened. And he's been dropped. An
He'd have been better off getting booked or sent off. And then left alone to get on with things. Trial by the media. ....
Ps.......great player Psycho......
Soft......And littered with cheats. Some penalties given nowadays are a joke. Listened to some clown tv punter say recently, that if a forward feels a "touch" from a defender, then that forward is entitled to go down. What!!Game's gone soft.
Right! They used to show The Big Match until recently - repeats of a weekend football show from the 70s - and it's astounding watching the players staggering to their feet after the heftiest of challenges and limping away to resume the match. They used to keep their feet in the box too and refs weren't so easily conned anyway.Soft......And littered with cheats. Some penalties given nowadays are a joke. Don't even know what that means. The slightest touxh......And the attacker goes down. That's cheating in my book.....
Although if we got one of those soft penalties and win the match, then I suppose I'd take it. But we don't get that many.
But.......yep......you are spot on. The game has gone soft.
Spot on.. Agree with everything you have said. And idiot punters on tv defend it all.Right! If I was a ref I wouldn't give a pen unless the defender punched the forward in the face or picked up the ball in the box and stuffed it up his shirt.
They are all at it nowadays. Bloody cheats.
It was a great show. Remember Denis Law worked on it after he retired playing? He just used to sit and read match reports and summaries to camera - a working journalist in other words!Spot on.. Agree with everything you have said. And idiot punters on tv defend it all.
Loved the big match. Great football show on a Sunday afternoon. Have been catching up on the recent replays. Especially the ones showing Everton. And even more especially seeing the Everton matches that I was actually at. Interesting seeing those matches now with a different prospective.........And not much cheating on view either. Great stuff....
Kick Off was a good TV programme on Granada too, think it used to be on a Friday night about 6:30pm,Gerald Sinstadt and Elton(Roger lol )Welsby the hosts!!It was a great show. Now we get Alan Shearer etc sat on a sofa in a hideous shirt "analysing" matches and earning a fortune.
