Just what you need at the dentist, a photographer. :)

away games used to have a coach firm HOME JAMES - which picked up and went direct to the game from the old Abbey picture house in wavertree
the firm is still going!
doubt if they do away games now like!

My first few away games were through Home James when I was in my early teens. I remember the Abbey was in Cinerama format for a while. We went to see How the West Was Won there in Cinerama and it was an amazing experience for a young lad.

Crown Coaches!!!! That is a trip down memory lane. Remember vividly buying tickets for them from a travel agent in the Square Maghull for the first time. Sheff Utd away 1974-5 season. Drew 2–2. Iirc it picked up at the Alt then went towards places closer to the ground for further pick ups?
I was at that game!!! It was a classic "throw Mick Lyons up front for the last 10 minutes because we're behind" game. One of the occasions when he managed it - got the equaliser for us if I remember correctly.

I think a mate of mine may have been on the same coach!!! The way he tells it is that the windscreen was broken and they drove all the way back with it like that through driving wind and rain. Could have been a different match, but very similar scenario. Given our modern health and safety orientated world it makes you wonder how any of us survived. Different days back then, but such enjoyable experiences - provided you survived!!!

Yep! Bramhall lane being a cricket ground was weird and the bizzies coming into the away fans at half time was funny! Police helmets everywhere!!
