There's a minute or two of this game caught on tape somewhere. Vernon was a yard onside. Inter players clearly weren't disputing it.
That said Inter were the better side. So difficult to get through their defence (makes Carlo's current tactics look like all out attack).

I see Dan Gosling popped up on the last day of transfer inaction! Didn't know he was still around actually. Watford his next stop. Another who played for the Tangerines and the Toffees. Only a dozen games or so on loan from Newcastle but scored a couple.
