Old Everton Pictures

There's a minute or two of this game caught on tape somewhere. Vernon was a yard onside. Inter players clearly weren't disputing it.
That said Inter were the better side. So difficult to get through their defence (makes Carlo's current tactics look like all out attack).
The tiny bit I saw...5-8 secs. showed the ball coming into the goal area, Young, I think, heading it back across and down for Vernon...who was not in an offside position...to slot.
Probably Young was the candidate for the offside, but when the ball was kicked? Who can tell now.
Foreign Reff, stricter rules, Italian teams, brown envelopes, Clive Thomas, Collina, the back of Hutchinsons head Clattenburg, that other dill of a reff who 'supports' tranmere, etc, etc, etc.
Add it all to the list

Sorry wrong thread but has to go somewhere: RS have just signed Ozan Kabak who earlier in the season
whilst playing for FC Schalke he spat on an apposing player during a match (Lied saying it wasn't meant)
he was suspended for 4 weeks by the German FA. What is it with the RS, wasn't El Hadji Diouf The
Detestable done for the same crime. Of course RS again Jamie Carragher managed to spit on a 13 year old
girl after another impartial performance as a commentator in Manchester. He should have been sacked.
Less than a year ago didn't some animal (Covid-19 carrier) spit at a lady ticket seller at a railway station
which resulted in her death.
