I played at Holly Park that season 2-2 me with Prescot Town at the time. Alan Hampson was manager of South, he was on Evertons books in 50 & 51 but only got one game. (A lovely bloke from Prescot).…it’ll be Jimmy Case, Joey. He played for South Liverpool on a Saturday & Blue Union on Sunday’s. Sammy Lee was another old team mate of mine but he was a bit younger.

I played in the last season of the existing Lancashire Comb. up at Christie Park in Morecambe got battered
6-1, but we played under floodlights that night, I'm not kiddin' it was like the Bernabeu for me amazing,
I never got the chance again. Second half of that season I played for The County (Of County road L4)
Sunday Prem, Christ that was an eye-opener for the "Darker Arts". I was only signed on as County lost
players who played for Skem at a time when they couldn't take any chances with injuries.(FA Cup duty).
Terry Crosbie carried on playing for County as he was a goalie. But if memory serves, we lost Mansfield Whitehead & Moorcroft forever. Many times our professional players from Everton and the RS could be
seen at Sunday Prem games.
Might be wrong, but the only one who made it through to the first team there is the keeper Drrew Brand I think.View attachment 132874

Just a few more lines on your wonderful column Joey. Eggs, just to say the most cash up here in Liverpool…that Sunday Prem was some league back in the day, soectators would be two or three deep around the edge of the pitch for the big games.
Terrific players, big characters mostly earning good money for playing on a Saturday but the referees were not as disciplined and you had to survive.
