.....I'm on record as saying Stones is the best, Joey but I suppose time will be the judge of that. What is for certain is that Labone was a brilliant CB and truly great Evertonian. My favourite picture of Labone is the one of him of him walking alone on Goodison Rd during the final stages of the relegation decider against Coventry. The club meant that much to him that the tension got to him just the same as it got to us.

I have a memory of Labone. Was at an EFC do and got speaking to the great man. He was my dad's era so I asked if he'd say hello to him if I called him. He made my dads night speaking for a couple of minutes. Top fella.
