My dad and the soon to be Madame Allezlesbleus were there while I was stranded agonising out of radio contact in the middle of the French countryside. Did not know score until about 9pm.

There was one game at Hillsborough in that run , when we seemed to play them all the time in the cup,ect and it was one of the dirtiest games i have been at, both teams were at it, then Reid and co went up a level kicked them all over the park, some fine tackles.

Remember it well. Other than losing to United in the FA Cup final - the lowest point of an otherwise fantastic season. So sad.

....the irony is that I think Marwood went on to have a role with the PFA.

IIRC there was film of the tackle taken from the club's in house camera in the main stand that was shown on the news. Not for the faint hearted, it was a terrible challenge.

Haven't seen it in 30+ years but from memory Marwood went through the back of Heath with a lot of force?
