As its FA cup day ,Everton 0 Gillingham 0 FA cup 4th rnd ,went to 2 replays with Everton winning 3-0 in the second ,Howard kendal was under pressure and if lost could well have got sacked ,the first replay tony cascarino missed a last minute one on one with neville Southall, the rest is history Eveeton go on to win the Fa cup and the start of a few very successful years
remember those matches well. Was practically willing Everton to score , and beat them. A few close calls in some of our cup runs back in those days. Made a wee bit of a fool of myself in predicting the result against UCD from Ireland. Predicting a double figure aggregate win against the Irish part timers. How wrong was that. But we then go on to win that cup.
Was those matches Everton easing up. Our the smaller teams raising their game. Anyhow , here's to a win tomorrow. And getting this awful season at long last, kick started. Up The Toffees......

Blowing a gale that night. I thought that would have been the leveller but we came through unscathed

Died 100 years ago today, Charles Frederick Parry (1870 – 4 February 1922) was a Welsh footballer who played as a defender for Everton in the 1890s, helping them to win the Football League championship in 1891. He also made thirteen appearances for the Wales national football team including four as captain. Later in his career, he returned to Wales where he won the Welsh Cup with Aberystwyth Town in 1900. He subsequently fell on hard times and was the beneficiary of three testimonial matches

We nearly went out against UCD. They hit the woodwork at GP and if that had gone in we would have been out on away goals rule

Lets us hope for a repeat of this scoreline next Tuesday
