For @Bluerover - Jackie Coulter of Everton and Ireland International 1934 -

Cheers Joey. I will certainly order that. I see he played with Dundalk, Belfast Celtic and Linfield during his career.

I love to see players crossing the divide - football should not be tied up in bigotry.

I love the wiki line that he will be remembered by Everton fans for a hat trick in a Cup replay against Sunderland........in 1934!!

In googling Jackie Coulter I found this fascinating and detailed article about Alex Stevenson and Coulter, written on a Bohs site. Two working class Dubs who played for Everton.

I take my hat off to the author - fascinating.

I see that the first rs manager, John Mckenna, interfered when he was FA Chairman, to prevent Stevenson earning many more ROI caps.

I never knew that Stevenson was captain in the 78299 match against the rs. Lovely photos in that article including him leading us out for that match.

19th August 1967. Manchester United goalkeeper Alex Stepney can only sit and watch as the ball lands at the feet of Everton's Alan Ball in the front of an empty net, at Goodison Park - in a 3-1 win - we had arrived -

Stepney looks like he has just woke up from a nap on the nice green grass and is trying to get to his feet. Cant think of any other reason that he should be sat on his ass there.
