My great uncle was there it was something like out of the golden vision I was ranting about Alex Young, he was telling me about Sandy Young then went on to tell me about being there for Dixes 60th goal season ticket till he died!

Gordon West played his last game for Everton against Newcastle on 25th April 1973 then retired.. coming out of retirment 3 years later and made 17 appearences for Tranmere Rovers..
Alan Ball passed away the same date 34 years later... sorry but that day is burnt in my brain..

73. He went on to play a few games for Tranmere (I saw a couple of them) in his early 30s - he was no Burridge or Nev in age terms.

Used to play footy right by that in our dinner time way back in the 70s when I worked for the old Liverpool corpy, we all had our steel toecap work boots on, it always got a bit tasty.
