I was there stood on the Spion Kop we played them off the park, the thing that stood in my memory was the Anfield road end full of Blues chanting Champions non stop in the 2nd half - there was about 3 000 blues in the packed Kop an all ticket afair it held over 20, 000 fans -

Policemen on duty outside Maine Road to deal with people queuing for tickets for the FA Cup semi final match between Everton and Liverpool 19 March 1950.

That was a different age; two apparently unaccompanied young lads going to buy tickets.
