When I was in my teens in the 1960s I remember at the end of the season for quite a few years Everton used to play a cricket game against Bootle. Living in Kirkdale, I used to walk along and watch it. An evening game, 20 overs a side, Bootle Cricket ground would be packed. I think Brian Harris played for Bootle in the summer. Great chance to meet the players after the game, as the Everton cricket team was comprised mostly of first team players. There must be some old photos of the Everton team playing these cricket games...

iirc, Brian Harris was a good all rounder at both cricket and football and was usually there or there abouts at the footballers summer golf comp.

Regarding my earlier post, I'm pretty sure the Bootle Times and the Liverpool Echo used to post a photo or two of the Bootle Cricket Club v. Everton every year...
