Everton outside-right focus: Albert Geldard.The Yorkshireman was a terrifically quick winger who won the FA Cup as a Toffeeman in 1933. Left for Bolton in 1938 after 180 & 37 goals appearances. He had aspirations to be a performing magician or a journalist.

29, 1954 - Oldham Athletic 0-4 Everton. The Blues clinched promotion back to the top flight after 3 seasons in Division 2, with a 4-0 win away at Oldham. JW Parker scored twice, whilst TE Jones & Dave Hickson were also on the scoresheet.

1979 - Everton 1-0 Birmingham City. Gordon Lee’s Blues beat the Brummies at Goodison, thanks to an Andy King goal. An 18yr old Pat Van Den Hauwe was playing for Birmingham & had his name misspelt on the back of the EFC match programme.
1962 - Everton 8-3 Cardiff City. One of EFC’s biggest ever league wins at Goodison. Roy Vernon scored a hat trick (1 a penalty), whilst Billy Bingham, Jimmy Gabriel, Dennis Stevens, Derek Temple & Alex Young also scored.
1980 - Everton 2-0 Southampton. Victory for Gordon Lee’s Blues at Goodison, as they claimed 3pts vs the Saints. A John Gidman penalty & a goal for Gary Stanley - his only goal for EFC - sealed the win.
