My recollection was that it was going to be cantilevered and the fact it wasn't only became clear near the end of its construction.

One other innovation in the stand (alongside what I think were elevators not escalators) was a pre match warm up area, a sort of mini 5-a-side pitch.

what was the cost of the build ? just wondering what % the cantilever would've added ?

It cant have set out to be cantilever though as it was built in sections from the church, sections opened as more was added on, seen a pic of lids sat close to the end of the top balc.

Cantilever wouldve had to go up right at the start of doing the roof

It's almost a guarantee that the Greek Bizzy will have spoken to them in a friendly tone shaking their hands and smiling whilst saying all kinds of abuse in Greek.
The Greeks invented Plumbin, Bummin' & Yer Mar sayings, it probably revolved around Piraeus and a Dog or a radish round the back.
