Which the Reff then ruled Offside...The Inter Players don't seem to think it wasn't Legal.
I've seen a brief clip of the goal...which I can't find now no matter where I look. I was in the Goodison Rd Paddock as it was then and dead level with the play. Vernon wasn't offside but the ball seemed to be played back to him or was headed back to him back to him by Young, who did appear to be offside-ish...it was stricter then.
We weren't firing on all cylinders early in that post Championship season and I suspect one or 2 weren't fully fit...in the away leg we were even more depleted and went out 1-0
They were the best team in Europe for 3 yrs. We would've well beat them if we'd played them at the end of 62-63 season not the beginning of 63-64 season.
