My thoughts too mate,the fact brooking played for a london club and had the backing of the southern media was a major factor.
Martin Dobson, cracking player scored goals with head and feet all round top player never got a look in for England while Sir Trevor Brooking was an ever present. Brooking was never booked in his career which says a lot really especially considering the era he played in. Not in Dobbo's class.
