What a shame they covered up the brickwork around Goodison no matter how they tried to make it look presentable it still looks like a pig in the poke. Anyone know what the reason was for covering it. (maintenance?).

No, a house I had only two in the road had no porches - I asked my old neighbour why? - 1939 world war two all the builders called up to the war - materials for our two houses were put in a barn & locked up my house was then built in 1946 - stuff had gone missing - our two houses were denied porches = shortage of building materials .... yet on my deeds the house states built in 1940 - My neighbour a local stated NO - both houses were finished after the war .... shortage of Labour & Materials - another house I had - Iron railings Sorn off for the War effort ....Sorry Joey I don’t remember the exact time line they started to cover the brickwork at Goodison 80/90’s possibly? So surely it couldn’t have been for wartime shortages of materials, or was your reply tongue in cheek?
